Blue Cow

Moods are funny things. Have you ever wondered why one kind comes out ahead of another at any given time, on any given day? I do, often. And it’s not even like we have an option somedays.

Some days are more reflective, some exhuberant, others overwhelming or sad but whichever way we look at it, there’s no escaping the fact that however they occur, these varying moods, we are the canvas on which they paint themselves.

Some people think they don’t have an artistic bone in their body but actually I don’t think that’s true. There’s someone inside us all, who, paint-brush in hand paints in broad sweeping movements, stippled effects and or fine soft even brush strokes, and their use of the colour palette is sometimes bold and at other times muted.

I recognise some moods now. I recognise them by their colour. like mellow for instance is Lime & Soda, a soft straw colour reminiscent for me of golden wheat or hay filled paddocks. Soulful is Marrakesh, a mid-tone blue-grey that has no anger in it, just this abiding sense of wellness and well-being. Brooding is Aniseed, a reticent but deeply thoughtful, more grey than black. And so it goes, do you recognise the colours of your moods?

What’s my mood today you ask? Blue Cow, the colour of lavender fields in Sault or St Jean Lioux and Coustellet in the Provence region of France. Like the bouquets, whole fields of them infact around the beautiful Gordes in Lubron or the Senanque Abbey. My mood is Blue Cow today, how would you describe yours?
