The Morebit

As time goes by I’m more and more convinced that what matters most to me, is not ultimately, what matters to a single other person in the world. And why is that? Because unless we’ve taken the time to explain in depth to a single other person why we think and believe the things that we do, no-one else really gets it. Well, not immediately. They deserve brownie points for sure if they’ve tried!

We’re complex creatures, we humankind. Paradoxically complex and simple, together. We stand sometimes between light and dark, day and night, we’re gray-scale and yet we know there’s also so much more. And what does that mean? The ‘more’ bit.

From time to time, I’m want to believe that it just means there’s something else we haven’t yet considered, so the idea of a possibility moves us from the gray-scale world of ashen unreality to a world that takes us to the edge of someplace where rainbow light falls. Where we get an impression of colour (though we’re not so certain our perceptions are real just yet).

Is this then ‘unreality?’ Is ‘unreality’ real you ask? I think so. Metaphorically-speaking, one imagines one can see it, can smell it, touch it, hear it and taste it, so one’s brain is somehow mesmerised to a point of belief. Or in this unreality perhaps it’s more a misbelief? Wheels within wheels.

Whichever it is, I’m trying not to disturb it because I don’t want the bubble to burst. Well, not just yet anyway! It matters to me to know, would it matter to you then? I have my doubts, these ramblings you might wonder, are they the ramblings of an intact mind? I believe so, ah but then, you hardly know me! How could you believe?
