Wishful Thinking
The weather like so much else about our lives can be so unpredictable. Personally, I have rather a love-hate relationship with unpredictability. I hate the ‘not knowing’ characteristic of it because I’m so inquisitive. I like knowing and that my friends is both a problem and quite different from a propensity to want control of everything about your life. Bottom line I suppose is that I’m just nosy for life. I like poking around in it.
I have a mate, Burmo, he’s always got his nose in something musically interesting. He really has a nose for it. He has an uncanny ability to sniff out obscure musical acts that end up being totally known ‘big acts’ or just knowing where to find really mind-fascinating stuff. I like that about him alot. Which reminds me, sometimes he falls off the face of the earth with some of these fishing expeditions of his, so Burmo, when you’re reading this, remember to phone home! (read ‘drop me a line some time soon’ I’m just waiting with baited breath!).
Unpredictability can mess with your head if you let it. Don’t let it, otherwise you spend unnecessary energy on always wondering just what’s around the corner, it can be so mind-consuming! A surfer would tell you to ride the wave, a musician might ask you if you can ‘feel’ it.
I rarely have a level of comfortability with all things unpredictable but I never disguise the fact that having it as part of the fabric of my life makes for some pretty interesting threads not to mention a great splash of colour. Enjoy it when it happens, I’ve been learning how and you do get the hang of it eventually.
