ABOUT Tedx
TEDx was created in the spirit of TED’s mission, ‘ideas worth spreading’. The programme is designed to give communities, organisations and individuals the opportunity to stimulate dialogue through TED-like experiences at the local level.
ABOUT Diane Bell
“The Murray-Darling River System still needs our help. Though the issues surrounding the freshwater flows of the System are no longer in the spotlight cast by mainstream media, these issues still need to be explored.
In 2005, Professor Diane Bell returned to Australia after 17 years in Senior Academic posts in the United States but her plan to retire to Ngarrindjeri country, where she would continue to think and write, was not to be.
The Murray-Darling River system was in crisis. Diane turned her anthropological gaze on water reform; campaigned for freshwater flows as an Independent in the 2008 Mayo by-election (SA); and worked with environmental NGOs. Diane is currently the Chair of the River, Lakes & Coorong Action Group.”
