Nikki Gemmell is an Australian author, best known for anonymously writing the best-selling erotic novel ‘The Bride Stripped Bare’ often described as the the Australian version of the infamous E.L.James ’50 Shades of Grey’.

ABOUT Nikki Gemmell

“She has written five novels, ‘Shiver’, ‘Cleave’ (or Alice Springs in the U.S.), ‘Lovesong’, ‘The Book of Rapture’, ‘The Bride Stripped Bare’ and its follow-up, ‘With My Body’.

She’s also written two works of non-fiction: ‘Pleasure: An Almanac for the Heart’, and ‘Why You Are Australian’.

Her work has been internationally critically acclaimed and translated into many languages. In France she’s been described as a female Jack Kerouac, in Australia as one of the most original and engaging authors of her generation and in the US as one of the few truly original voices to emerge in a long time.

Born in Wollongong, Australia, she lived in London for many years but has now returned to Australia with her family. Nikki has worked as a radio journalist on ABC Radio and Triple J. She now writes a hugely popular column in the Weekend Australian Magazine and will publish a series of them coming out in early December called ‘Honestly’.
