“Monique Villa is a journalist, business leader and passionate advocate for women’s rights. She is the CEO of Thomson Reuters Foundation, the global philanthropic organisation committed to empowering people in need with trusted news, information and legal support.
As a correspondent and Bureau Chief with Agence France-Presse (AFP), Monique spent over 20 years reporting from the field. She later became Managing Director of Reuters Media, Chairman of Action Images and took over the Thomson Reuters Foundation in 2008.
In 2011 she was ranked 43rd in the Ethisphere’s list of the world’s 100 most influential people in Business Ethics. She is the driving force behind the Trust Women Conference, a key gathering of worldwide leaders committed to the fight for women’s rights.
